Cozy Corners

You may or may not know we have been finishing our basement since last September. We are DIYing 90% of it so these things take time, especially since my husband has to go to his real job 55 hours a week!

One of the finishing touches we knew we wanted to incorporate in our new family room is a space saving electric fireplace. We wanted something compact and a bit unique, while keeping with our love of a modern rustic mix.

We are huge fans of Napoleon products. We love their quality, prices and of course, most importantly, they are a Canadian brand. I began looking at Napoleon Fireplaces back in the early winter months, hoping to find something that checked all of our boxes. My timing couldn’t have been more perfect as I stumbled upon the Stylus Steinfeld Wall Mount Electric Fireplace - a brand new Napoleon product being released the very next week!

Sometimes the stars align as I was also planning another visit to Improve Canada. If you are new to my blog, Improve Canada is the largest home improvement centre in the province! With over 350 showrooms there is truly something for everyone, and in our case, a new fireplace!

I worked closely with Toronto Home Comfort, just one of the many Napoleon dealers at Improve Canada, and they were able to order our new fireplace for us and contacted me within 10 days to tell me it had arrived. We made a quick trip back to Improve and it was ready and waiting for us.

We installed the Stylus Steinfeld Wallmount unit it this past weekend and the instructions were user friendly, in fact my husband was able to do everything himself, I just came in at the end to help attached it to the bracket on the wall.

Some may wonder why about the placement of the fireplace in our family room but we like to think outside the box. We had preppanned where we would hang a wall mount fireplace and wired the basement accordingly.

Some of the great features on the Steinfeld are the USB ports, the optional crystals and/or logs, the colour changing flames and lighting. We especially love the spot light where we can display decorative items or even a photo. This unit can also be plugged in or hardwired. Napoleon thought of everything, It’s a great design!

And while things may not be totally finished down here yet, the fireplace is already the most beautiful statement piece in the space. We are dreaming of cozy movie nights and fun family get togethers.

If you are looking for a new fireplace, gas or electric, I highly recommend planning a visit to Improve Canada. You can pre-book visits to all the showrooms that carry fireplaces, there are so many to choose from. If you decide to check out Toronto Home Comfort, tell them I said hello.
