Beautiful & Edgy - Week 4 of the One Room Challenge

Sliding into week four of the One Room Challenge and bringing you my favourite part of my entire design…the wall mural from Limitless Walls!

Let’s do a brief recap of where this whole project started! We are converting a space at the bottom of our basement stairs, that was finished by the builder, into my home office.

My plan involved extending the vinyl plank flooring from our recently finished rec room, right out over top of the ceramic, paint, lighting, a barn door and of course a wall mural. Here is my Design Board if you are new to my blog!

We have completed the painting, the flooring and the barn door install and now it’s time for the mural!

The mural I choose is the “Day Dead Skulls, Blooming Roses & Foliage” from Limitless Walls, one of our sponsors for the One Room Challenge.

When ordering your mural from Limitless Walls you order based on the size of your wall. In our case, the wall we intended to hang the mural on was 9 x 8.5 The mural arrived in a BIG BOX and was in two pieces, each numbered and labelled with “TOP” to make it easy. You also receive a wallpaper smoother to assist with installation. And yes, this mural is PEEL AND STICK!

The first thing we did was use a laser level to ensure our first of two pieces was level and square on our not so square wall. The mural pieces are BIG and install is definitely a two person job…my hubby was thrilled as you can imagine haha! If you check out my highlight reel for this One Room Challenge project over on Instagram you can see a time-lapse video of the entire install!

Once we had our laser lines established we were good to go! We followed our own advice we always give when hanging peel and stick wallpaper . Follow your line, take your time, smooth each piece with your hands as you go and don’t use your wallpaper smoother until each piece is exactly where it should be. This particular pattern was easy to match. I am so impressed with the quality and durability of this mural. I don’t ever plan on removing it, but if I wanted to, I could easily re-use it elsewhere.

This mural by Limitless Walls is definitely the focal point of my new home office and I couldn’t be happier!!!

We are now at the half way mark of the One Room Challenge so the heat is on! Check back next week when we add a little bling to this space by way of lighting! And be sure to visit the One Room Challenge website to follow along with your faves and get inspired!

Meet you here next week!
