It All Started With a Win

Week Four of the One Room Challenge is all about our new vanity! Shall i recap?

Back in December I won a three piece vanity combo from Foremost Canada….that’s right, me, who never wins anything, won a VANITY! The timing was perfect as we had literally moved into a new build home the week before and the bathrooms here are building basic boring. Here’s a pic in case you don't believe me!

Building Basic Boring Before!

The vanity combo I won is called the Brantley Harbour Blue Vanity Combo by Foremost Canada and it really was the basis for my One Room Challenge design plan. Here is the package I won - it is also available in white…

Because I am going for a vintage/retro vibe in this bathroom I have chose not to use the mirror and medicine cabinet, but don’t worry, i’m saving them for our basement bathroom when it gets finished. Instead, as you saw in last weeks update, i’m pairing brass finishes with this beauty.

I’m choosing to pair this vintage brass mirror with the new vanity!

And of course with being in the midst of a pandemic, there is no one here but me, to help my hubby unpack and move the vanity into the house. Usually I can bribe one of our boys or my brother-in-law with a home cooked meal to come help, this time it was all me and i suck at moving anything heavy! Luckily my hubby is Scottish, stubborn and strong so he did most of the work. Then we used the old blankets on the floor - push and slide trick, until we finally got her in place. Trust me, it was touch and go but thankfully it all worked out.

This vanity is GORGEOUS, the quality is amazing! Here are a few of my fave features:

  • soft closing doors - if you have kids, especially boys - these are a must!

  • the large drawer is solid wood, dovetai with slow close glides

  • the legs have adjustable levellers which for us was important due to the tile not going right to the wall under the old vanity.

  • this vanity comes pre-assembled and the packaging was amazing for keeping the vanity free from damage. You literally unbox it and put it in place.

This is our first experience with a Foremost Canada product and we are super impressed and would definitely recommend them and use their products again.

Whats the plan for next week? All the plumbing and hopefully it goes off without a hitch! I mean really, what could go wrong right?

Be sure to check in on all the other participants, seriously, I am blown away week after week by the talent in the Spring One Room Challenge!

Cheers!
