Not much to report for week two over here except more delays, one delivery, some demo and I finally picked paint!

Oh and also in Week 2 was the Instagram Blackout which was like divine intervention! My hubby and I completed all the demo/tear down in the Laundry Room.

Demo included…..

removing wallpaper
removing closet doors and wire shelving
taking down open shelving (which will be repurposed)
removing laundry sink and faucet
patching holes x1000

Another thing I accomplished this week was picking my paint colour!! I was a waiting delivery of backsplash tiles before I pulled the plug on colour choice and that delivery arrived Week 1 while we were out of town.

We are partnering with our friends at Golden Select to add a tile backsplash to our laundry room. You may recall Golden Select provided our gorgeous Vinyl Plank Flooring for our basement Reno. Their line-up of backsplash tiles is pretty amazing. They are currently available at Costco.com and soon enough they will be available at Costco.ca whoop whoop! Golden Select may sound familiar to you here on my blog and that’s because we partnered with them to lay Vinyl Plank Flooring in our basement earlier this year. We cannot recommend their products enough…quality and affordability, two of my favourite things!

We chose the “Waterfall” tiles from their Glass Mosaic Collection and are excited to get to this part of the project. This will only be our SECOND backsplash we’ve ever done, but we are confident we can pull it off. I’m even going to try my hand at the wet saw and some tile installation this time. We will definitely be filming some “how to videos” to show you all because you know what I always say, if we can do it, so can you!

And now let’s talk paint. Because this space is a combo laundry/mudroom and is high traffic for us, I wanted something durable and scrubbable. I was leaning towards one of my tried and true, Behr Marquee, until our Home Depot Paint Specialist recommend their new line “Behr Dynasty”. It says “one coat coverage” but as you can see, I ended up back over on the dark and moody side, so I’m preparing to do two. I’ll keep you posted. I am impressed with the new paint can lids and the spout they throw in with your paint sticks. Well done Home Depot! What do you think of the colour choice? I think it’s the perfect moody combo of blue and green! For those wondering….it’s call THERMAL, a Behr Colour.

So my plan for today and tomorrow is to paint and send all the good vibes to the carriers who are working hard to get my wallpaper, sink and lighting to me!

Next week should be big….both in what we accomplish and with who. I can wait to share!
