From the Bottom Up - One Room Challenge Week 2

Week two of the One Room Challenge started off much better than week one, in fact week two has been PRODUCTIVE!

Let’s recap shall we? We recently finished our basement and were left with a little alcove at the bottom of our basement stairs, that while finished by the builder, was kind of useless with cold, hard ceramic tiles that just weren’t our style. Cue this gorgeous vinyl plank flooring we recently installed throughout our entire basement. “Tuscan Oak”, Rigid Core VP by Golden Select has made my flooring dreams come true.

And because we had installed sub floor in our basement, we were able to lay the Vinyl Plank right over top of the ceramic tile without much height difference. In fact, my husband is basically a pro now and he completed my new office area in an afternoon earlier this week! We ordered a transition piece via curbisde and as luck would have it, it was in stock and was a good colour match.

This was installed Tuesday and i’m thrilled with how it’s looking!

I often get asked for flooring recommendations and I will hands down ALWAYS recommend Vinyl Plank, it’s durable, waterproof, pet and kid friendly and so much easier to maintain than hardwood…in my opinion, It’s also more cost effective!

This weekend I plan to get back at my painting and hope to finish the trim, reinstall it and maybe, just maybe get started on the wall mural!
